Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-15
Short version: the basic pageview tracker is cookieless. Session replay (which is opt-in for EU/UK/EEA, opt-out elsewhere) sets a couple of session cookies if you accept it. Klaro stores your consent choice in a cookie so the banner doesn't reappear every visit. That's the whole list.
Cookies set on this site
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Type | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
eotm_consent |
Klaro (consent banner) | Stores your consent choices so the banner doesn't reappear every visit | First-party | 365 days |
umami.session.* |
Umami recorder.js | Identifies the current session for replay grouping (only set if you consent to replays) | First-party | Session (browser tab) |
What about pageviews?
The basic pageview tracker (which is always on, since it's cookieless) sets no cookies at all. It uses an in-memory hash of IP + user agent for deduplication, rotated daily. Nothing is stored on your device.
Third-party cookies
None. The site doesn't load Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, ad networks, or any other third-party trackers.
Changing your settings
Click Cookie Settings in the footer (or anywhere on the site) to open the consent banner. From there you can enable or disable session replay at any time, and your choice is remembered for next visit.

What's collected (updated May 2026)
Anonymous pageview data: page URL, referrer, browser, OS, device type, screen size, country (and city/region where available, accurate to metro level).
Per-post metadata attached to each pageview: which author, which series, which tags, post age, post length category. No personal data, just describes the content you viewed.
Engagement events (anonymous): scroll depth (25/50/75/100%), outbound link clicks (with destination domain), internal link clicks, time on page (30s/60s/120s/300s beacons), share button clicks, code copy events on technical posts, image clicks.
Session replay (opt-in EU/UK, opt-out elsewhere): clicks, scrolls, form interactions with all input fields masked. Recordings expire after 30 days.
Nothing is sold or shared. Everything stays on infrastructure I (Sid) operate.
